On the south side of the Tagus, this enormous statue extends its arms, drawing inspiration from the well-known Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. At Prime Minister Salazar's request, Francisco Franco constructed the 28-meter-tall Christ sculpture between 1949–1959, which is set atop an 82-meter-tall pedestal. Duration: 30 minutes

The final seaside castle to be kept to this day is Sesimbra Castle, which was designated as a National Monument on June 16, 1910. The only Portuguese seaside castle retaining its medieval style is Sesimbra Castle. On June 16th, 1910, it was designated as a National Monument and possesses a number of noteworthy attributes. There is a magnificent view of the town and the sea from its walls. Duration: 30 minutes
