Departure from Angra do Herosmo in the morning towards So Mateus da Calheta. This is the island’s main fishing community, where we may visit the Fish Lota, a whaling museum, and eat local fish and shellfish.
We proceed to the parish of Cinco Ribeiras, where we visit the Queijo Vaquinha cheese factory. We may sample several cheeses and bread from the Azores at the plant.
We continue down the coast to Serreta parish, where we halt for a traditional meal. We shall enjoy Alcatra, Terceira Island’s most renowned restaurant in this restaurant. Sausage, black pudding, fried pig, liver baits, sweet potatoes, and corn cakes are all available. Everything is done the way our forefathers did it.
After lunch, nothing beats traveling north, seeing the Biscoitos winemaking landscape, and maybe stopping at a small winery to sample local wines and liqueurs.
Even with a full stomach, you should try the freshness of the Quinta dos Açores ice creams and visit the factory.
